Use chocolate chips or a large milk chocolate bar.
Cut 1 pound of dipping chocolate into small pieces.
Place in upper part of a double-boiler.
The lower pan 1/4 full of water at 140', lukewarm.
Stir chocolate constantly until melted.
Beat thoroughly.
Place candy on fork or confectioner's dipper.
Dip one piece at a time into chocolate.
Lift it out and allow to drain a bit, then
place on waxed paper. Make a swirl over the top.
Set in a cool place to harden.
Note:
Keep boiler at an even temperature.
Work in a cool room, free from steam.
Chocolate Covered Peanuts or Wheaties cereal
Stir into the melted chocolate a sufficient
quantity of peanuts to completely cover them.
Lift spoonfuls out and cool on parchment or waxed paper.
Options:
Fruits, nuts, mints, and other candies can be dipped.
Make a candy such as peanut butter candy or cherry mash...
form into small ball shape and chill before dipping.
