Hot Fudge Sauce



4 Tbsp butter
4-oz unsweetened chocolate
2/3 cup boiling water
2 cups sugar
1/4 cup light corn syrup
1/4 tsp salt
2 tsp vanilla

*Melt butter in a heavy 3-quart saucepan over low heat.
Add chocolate and let melt.
Stir in water, sugar, corn syrup, salt.
Bring to boil over medium heat and cook without stirring
until sauce is thickened, dark, and glossy, about 8 minutes.
Stir in vanilla.

Serve hot over ice cream.
Store any leftover sauce covered in the refrigerator.
Reheat over very low heat.
If sauce should become grainy, stir in 1-2 Tbsp hot water.
