Crumb Pie Crust
|
|
Corn Flake Crust
1/3 cup butter
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 cup corn flake crumbs
|
In small pan over low heat:
stir butter, sugar, cinnamon
until bubbles form.
Remove from heat.
Mix in crumbs.
Press mixture evenly
into a 9" pie pan to form crust.
Chill

Standard Crumb Crust
2 1/2 cups crumbs
6 Tbsp butter
a pinch of salt
Can use sweetened cookies:
vanilla wafers, oreos,
shortbread cookies,
gingersnaps
or:
Pretzel: 2 cups crushed;
or Graham Crackers:
9 grahams or 1 wrapped section
Add 3 Tbsp granulated sugar
or brown sugar
Optional:
add 1/2 tsp cinnamon
Chopped pecans or walnuts

Place cookies in a zip lock bag.
Place bag on a towel.
Pound with a rolling pin
into fine crumbs.
or use a food processor.
Press into a 9" pie plate
using fingers or a small glass.
Chill 1 hour before filling
or bake at 325' for 10 minutes
for a crispy crust. Then fill.
Fill with any pudding or cheese cake.
