Easy Pie Crust

Appalachian Style Apple Pie

Stacked Apple Pies
4 cups flour
1 cup water
1 cup milk
1 cup shortening



Easy Pie Crust #2

2 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 Tbsp sugar
1/2 cup oil
1/4 cup milk



*For savory pies, omit sugar & add herbs, black pepper

Mix wet ingredients into the dry ingredients.
Don't overwork the dough. It will be soft.
Roll out between 2 sheets of wax paper.
Peel off top paper, place pie plate upside down on it.
Flip right side up, holding paper underneath.
Repair the crust and shape as desired.

Makes one large crust.
Double the recipe to add a top crust.
Bake at 400' for 10 minutes, or
fill pie with filling, bake for 45 to 50 minutes.



Easy Pie Crust #3

2 cups flour
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup oil
1/4 cup milk
(no sugar)

*Roll out between two sheets of waxed paper
*no need to flour the waxed paper
*don't overwork the dough
*looks like mashed potatoes
*looks oily but turns out crisp
*Remove top sheet of waxed paper
Turn dough over on counter; separate other sheet
Put both sheets back on again then
and now they come easily off of the paper.
Flip this over onto the pie pan.
