Pie Crust



4 cups flour, less 1/4 cup
1/4 cup cornstarch
1/4 tsp salt
3 tsp sugar
1/4 tsp baking powder

1/2 cup butter
1 egg
1 tsp vinegar
water to 1/2 cup


*Combine dry ingredients. Cut in butter with large fork.
Make a well. Add wet ingredients and work into the flour.
Dough should be soft and pliable.
Divide into two halves.
Roll out on floured board to 1/4" thick.
Fold in half and move it to a pie tin.
Press into place. Form an edge and trim excess.
Fill. Top with other half.
