9-Day Slaw



1 medium cabbage, shredded
2 stalks celery, diced
2 medium onions, diced
1 green pepper, diced
2 cups sugar

1 cup salad oil
1 cup cider vinegar
2 Tbsp salt
2 Tbsp sugar
Optional: pimento

*Combine cabbage, celery, onion, and green pepper
with the sugar. Blend well.
In a saucepan combine remaining ingredients.
Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
Pour this over the cabbage mixture immediately and stir.
Allow to cool. Cover. Store in refrigerator.
Chill one day before serving.
*Will stay fresh and crisp for 9 days.
